Before we tell you the reasons, let’s explain what is actually baby powder. It is a talcum powder that is initially used to prevent diaper rash and as a deodorant. The name surely says that it can only be used on babies. Nevertheless, if you do not have a baby it does not mean that you should not keep it at home. You can use if for many other things.

1. ANT REPELLENT

If you have problems with ants in your home just sprinkle some baby powder around the doors and windows and create a barrier. The ants will not dare to cross this barrier.

We all know how frustrating it can get when you have tangled jewelry and you cannot untangle it.  Well, baby powder can help. Just sprinkle some of it on the knot to make it easier to loosen and untangle.

If you are in a hurry, you can use this product as shampoo. Just mix ¼ cup of baby powder and ¼ of baking soda and you can clean your greasy hair. Massage the dry shampoo you have created into your hair and let it soak for a few minutes. When it does, bush it thoroughly and just go on with your day.

4. DEODORANT

You can also use baby powder as deodorant due to the fact that it absorbs sweat and it prevents stink. It is also very beneficial for eliminating odor from shoes. Just fill the sneakers with it and let them like that overnight. Dump it in the morning and wear them as fresh as new.

5. PRE-WAXING TREATMENT

If you want to prevent pain when you wax, just sprinkle the area with baby powder. This will create a protective layer which can minimize pain and irritation.

6. GREASE STAIN REMOVER

If you want to remove greasy stains just sprinkle baby powder on the spot and then dab it with a cotton ball. Just continue dabbing until the stain disappears.

7. FLOWER PROTECTANT

This is a very useful hack for gardeners. They should just sprinkle baby powder onto the bulbs and roots of flowers before they plant them. This will prevent all the flowers from rotting. Additionally, this works as an effective all-natural pesticide.

Just sprinkle some baby powder on your hands before you put on rubber gloves to make the whole process easier.

9. PLAYING CARDS FRESHENER

Playing cards can sometimes be very dingy. If you want them to be smooth again, just put them in a plastic bag with baby powder. Shake them and get them out. They will be as brand as new.

If you want to keep your sheets cool through the night, just sprinkle them with baby powder. This will also help absorb sweat and you will not wake up drenched.
