Ingredients:
–           Fresh ginger
–           Oven-safe bowl
–           1½ c olive oil
–           Cheese grater
Direction:
1)         Rinse a cup of fresh ginger and let dry for a couple of hours.
2)         Chop ginger and shred it with a cheese grater.
3)         Add it in a bowl of olive oil and mix it well.
4)         Simmer the mixture in the oven under low heat (150 degrees Fahrenheit) for 2 hours.
5)         After simmering, pour the mixture through an unbleached cheese cloth, eliminating the bits of ginger.
6)         Squeeze out the remaining oil from the cheese cloth and transfer the ginger oil into bottles.
7)         Keep the oil in a cool and dry place,
8)         It can stay up to 6 months.
If the ginger oil is not used in very strong concentrations, it is safe for use longer. For all who have sensitive skin are recommended to do a skin patch test. It can be also diluted with other carrier oils (bergamot, ylang-ylang, frankincense, sandalwood, neroli, and rose).
